About Piki Ake Treaty Services Piki Ake Treaty Services was established in 2001 by Kate Timms after her graduation from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Arts and a Post Graduate Diploma of Arts (with distinction) in Maori Studies. Kate was intially offered work doing Treaty of Waitangi workshops with nursing students in Invercargill, and from there her work has grown into Piki Ake as it is today. As a Maori Studies graduate, Kate had completed an intensive course in te reo Maori, as well as numerous papers regarding tikanga Maori, mainly concentrating on the areas of politics and education. Kate lives in Dunedin with her daughters Madeleine and Genevieve, and her husband, Conway. She is currently working as a Lecturer at the Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin. She is also completing a PhD in English which is due to bre submitted 2008. Her thesis topic is "Language Revitalisation in Alba/Scotland, Aotearoa/New Zealand and Eire/Ireland". Piki
Ake offers a number of services including Treaty of Waitangi workshops,
a Maori translation service, editing and proofreading services, and
in general tertiary study skills such as essay writing and note taking. |
